20 Resources That'll Make You Better At Cheap Single Pushchair

Cheap Single Pushchairs

If you're on a tight budget and don't require a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when traversing kerbs and woodland trails. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the most lightweight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels made from Hytrel elastomer that allows it to perfectly navigate through all kinds of surfaces and terrain'.

The YOYO2 frame base along with the curved fabric bassinet and six-month colour pack come together to create a stylish pushchair that is easy on the eye with a subtle yet elegant design and a tasteful branding. The frame's base weight is less than a kilo, and is so light you can lift it out of the box with just one hand.

It's also easy to add or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 by clicking - as well as being machine washable to prevent staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents looking for a versatile stroller wagon. It transforms from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can select the mode they prefer for their adventure. The wagon can fit two or three children ranging from 6 months to 5 years old. It comes with a large storage basket that can hold all your needs on the go.

The Xplore also has two canopies that move from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It also has a footwell that's not as deep or wide as some wagons, so it might not be comfortable for long excursions or for napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels solid and sturdy however it doesn't have as much flexibility as other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and it's not able to lock tight after folding. It is easy to move however, and fits through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions, meaning it is lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the other strollers we tested, but it is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only a direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to assemble with an average manual, and none of the components required tools. It's missing some features that we consider essential for a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair that is advertised as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry babies from birth to around 3.5 years old, easily changing into a seat and carrycot with only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver and the one-hand reclining of the seat and the huge shopping basket make it simple for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Despite  single infant stroller  being quite a narrow pushchair it handled the everyday bumps well and went through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or allow them to swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel during our walk on the stony path. It was able to handle this well, even though it felt to be a bit bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, strollers for jogging. However, they also make a broad range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It folds easily and fits in the trunk of a car even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers that we tried, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain and it's also a breeze to lift even with two kids and shopping bags.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams, which can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it does have a large basket deep enough to hold a changing bag or a large amount of groceries. It can also be used with a Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are available separately). The City Tour 2 is a ideal choice for those looking to use a stroller on the go.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's a stroller made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's initial days and beyond. It comes with a variety of stand-out features including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy with a flip out eyeshade, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures and the chassis has built-in suspension that eases the pain of bumpy terrain. Our test driver found it easy to push and was able to manoeuvre it through tight streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It is also able to stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the boot of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system comes included with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes come with one action and are colour coded. They also are compatible with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to operate and features a great dual suspension. It can be folded using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It is also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress built in that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat features two large fixed or flip-out sun visors and both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't perfect because it's not as quiet as Velcro and may wake napping babies.

The Duet is a angled stroller that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and even works with a few carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be positioned so that they face each other. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This will help reduce sibling arguments over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a massive bottle holder, gear tray as well as snack trays and an adjustable mat. It also comes with a folding stand that folds down and a frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who want to keep active. It's one of the lightest strollers for running that you can buy for your child. It also comes with great safety features, including a 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It also features a twist hand brake that's different than the lever type found on competing models.

The seat is comfortable and has a wide area to sit, but the seat's depth is less than other joggers we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs which is sufficient for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that will fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to assemble without tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
